in the Formosa Straits
Feb. 22nd, 2015 02:27 amPurchased most of the additional fabric needed to make a new quilt today, having had the inspiration for it last night in conjunction with a layer cake (that is, a set of 40 matching/themed fabric ten-inch squares) from my stash. So what if I currently have several piles of ongoing project? I needed to get the bits for this one while I still remembered what I was planning and while the local fabric shop still had that rather nice cream-on-dark-green wrought-iron-work pattern...
Er, ahem. Anyhow. Edits on book 2 continue. So does planning for Venice. The second is more fun than the first, but the first will be completed. Very soon.

Sheriff Chameleotoptor sighed with an air of weary sadness, and then turned to Doppelgutt and said 'The Senator must really have been on a bender this time -- he left a party in Cleveland, Ohio, at 11:30 last night, and they found his car this morning in the smokestack of a British aircraft carrier in the Formosa Straits.'

Look, Sheriff Chameleotoptor ... Doppelgutt are hints to a Not In Kansas too wide open to even count the guesses at. Then the last sentence pins the story down to a Senator we could actually work with -- and then ties that up with a SF type clue to powerful aliens or something. Which points back to the wide open universe of Chameoleotoptor, who may be a Man In Black of the Federation or something.
And the whole consistent tone promises a cheerfully wild but logical story; nothing either bad or dull is going to happen. Like THE BUTTERFLY KID.
