one thing done, more to do
Jul. 21st, 2016 02:08 amStill hot. Promised thunderstorms have not yet arrived: probably should make sure that window isn't too far open during the night, in case they decide to turn up while I'm asleep. Of course, the most likely option is that the rain will turn up tomorrow morning while I'm walking to work, except and unless I take an umbrella with me. Because.
Have just finished doing the UK proof-reads of book 3 and emailed all relevant changes/fixes to the publisher. Good. That's done. That's signed off. Now I can get back to focusing on book four... well, until something else intervenes.
Still playing a bit of Pokemon Go on the way to and from work. It fulfills my stamp-collecting soul. And even if the little surge of endorphins from capturing an electronic creature may be purely illusive and so on, why should I turn down free endorphins? Though it's not surprising that they brought out this game in the summer. I don't think they'd have quite the same uptake if it involved wandering around in rain, wind, and snow. (Well, okay, there would be some uptake. People are like that. But not quite the same numbers.)
My American publishers are doing a giveaway of ARCs of The Masked City at https://www.goodreads.com/giveaway/show/195433-the-masked-city - US readers only, I'm afraid. But if any of you do get one, you'll find out why I was muttering about there being an easter egg at the end.
