It all depends on the translation

While glancing over at http://www.comicsone.com to see what was going on with the Hong Kong comics they translate (Weapons of the Gods, Storm Riders, Saint Legend, etc . . .) I noticed something interesting.

They do manga as well, you see, and these ones are forthcoming.

Hatsu Akiko : Devil in the Water
Hatsu Akiko : Mourning of Autumn Rain
Ishida Ikue : Horizon Line
Udo Shinohara : Urban Mirage

The translation is unlikely to be that good. However, it may be acceptable, and if so, and what's more, if they bring out more -- especially by Hatsu Akiko . . .

Horizon Line has been out for a couple of years. I bought it and had to go through hell to read it because at the time they only made it for a Windows-compatible (and only a *certain* Windows) ebook readers, but found the end product basically readable. Not having read the original, I don't know if the translation was good or not, but I remember not finding the English version all that bad. But what finally decided me against buying more was that I found HL really really boring. -_- Not a tanbi fan, I guess.

Fair enough. ;) I'm actually more interested by the Hatsu Akiko ones, but quoted that one as an example of another shoujo (well, tanbi) book they were bringing out. I certainly can't fault them in terms of breadth of scope -- Hong Kong swordplay, elegant tanbi . . .
