Imagine you know nothing about me, but you have read my fics and/or my rpg-writing.

What kind of person do you think I am? (Yes, this is a meme.) How would you describe my attitudes and opinions about real-life issues? Or, to use the rephrased question:

Based on the way I write my characters, and the way they speak, think, and behave, what would that say to you about my attitudes and opinions about real-life issues?

This is a tricky one, because good writers can convincingly do characters whose opinions and viewpoints are different from their own without letting their sympathies show, and you're a quite good writer.

And good fanwriters can often imitate a style not their own, so even the style of the narration doesn't betray their viewpoint. This is less relevant with fanwriters for visual stories, of course.

But ... hmm. Based on your writing style, because your characters are very true to themselves, I'd say you're intellectual, careful and not inclined to take any position without thinking it through, but at heart quite pragmatic.

I'd say your thoughtful and insightful. You've got a good grasp on the side of characters most people don't think about it. You reveal their inner-workings, I think. So, I think in life you're a thoughtful person. :D

Dispassionate and clear-headed. Observant of situations and events but without either knee-jerk reactions or fastidious emotional avoidance. That's from the *way* you write your characters, not from the way your characters are, BTW. There's always a cool authorial brain at work watching the characters do and feel what they do and feel, and picking the exact word for it.

Hee, I think the comment that encapsulates my response is "the Kanzeon icon comes as no surprise". It's so true!

I'd say, also, that you had a sense of humour, that you were very clever, and that things rarely took you by surprise. I wouldn't have guessed that you were as approachable as you actually are.

A secret dark side to you! Hm. For real-life issues... You like to think about subjects, instead of knee-jerk -- you don't knee-jerk characters, after all. Unless it would be in character. If you see what I mean...

... I can't think of anything that hasn't ALREADY been pegged by the people above. XD Thoughtful, maybe very analytical, because you pick characters apart and get them right, careful, with a clear idea of what you're doing. Pragmatic too, most likely? XD

You are quietly intelligent, noting the subtleties of textures to all things-- drink, food, watercolour paintings, afternoon sunlight, a person's disposition. You're detached, but not emotionally sterile-- just prone to viewing things as shades of concepts rather than the same profane reality as everyone else. You expect the same of others, although you're understanding when they have to adjust to meet this point of view, rather than start out on your level. Just because your perspective is complex doesn't mean it's inaccessible.
